Katherine ‘Katie’ Boudreau

ESCANABA – Katherine “Katie” Boudreau, 95, of Escanaba, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at the Christian Park Village in Escanaba.

Katie was born July 31, 1917, in Escanaba, the daughter of Adelore and Delia (Beauchamp) Boudreau. She was a lifelong resident of Escanaba and a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church. She was employed at the House of Ludington for many years as well as other restaurants in the area. She loved to ride her bike around town and would often be seen at her favorite hangouts like Wickert Floral, Mr. Bike and Ski, Main Street Coffee House and many other locations.

Katie is survived by her sister, Dorothy L. Kang of Escanaba; special nieces, Katherine “Prunie” Kang and Janice (Kevin) Cumming, both of Escanaba; and numerous nieces and nephews and great and great-great-nieces and nephews; special friends, Matt Marenger and his family; and Lilly-Ann Zorza.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 13 brothers, Octave “Frenchie,” Leo “Bud,” Wilfred, Hubert “Swede,” Eugene, Robert “Joe,” Adolore Jr., Lawrence, Raymond, John, Kenneth, Russell and Ralph; and four sisters, Cordelia Boudreau, Mildred Boudreau, Loretta Norlin and Violet Baker.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, Jan. 17, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at the Skradski Family Funeral Home in Escanaba. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 6 p.m. at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Escanaba with Rev. Fr. Fran DeGroot officiating.

A luncheon will be served in the fellowship hall following the services. Katie will be laid to rest in the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in the spring. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Anne’s Catholic Church or to the family to be donated to a charity of their choice.
