Mark Allen ‘Marky’ Erickson

GLADSTONE – Mark Allen “Marky” Erickson, 33, of 812 Minnesota Ave., Gladstone, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at the St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba following a brief illness.

Mark was born Nov. 28, 1979, in Escanaba the son of Donald and Anges (Gagnea) Erickson. He was raised at the family home on Minnesota Avenue and attended the D.S.I.S.D. Learning Center in Escanaba.

Marky worked for many years at Lakestate Industries in Escanaba. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Gladstone, where he always rode his bike to Sunday morning services.

Marky enjoyed riding his bike around town and playing video games. He also loved to watch television and listen to the radio. Marky was very special and will be remembered for once he met you, he would never forget your name. He treasured calling people on the telephone and talking to them.

In addition to his parents, Donald and Agnes, survivors include: sisters, Anne Marie (Duane) Boda of Ishpeming, Lori Jean (Ken Pillera Jr.) Sischo of Gladstone, and Tina Lynn Erickson of Gladstone; special aunt, Margaret Anne Gagnon of Gladstone; nephew, Dakota Allen “Cody” Sischo of Gladstone and expectant niece, baby Boda; many other aunts, uncles and cousins.

Marky’s family will receive friends on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Funeral services celebrating the life of Mark Allen Erickson will follow at 5 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Gladstone with Pastor Peggy A. Rose officiating. Luncheon will follow in the First Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall. Burial will be held on Monday at 1 p.m. at the Fernwood Cemetery in Gladstone.
