Dorothy P. Micheau

GLADSTONE – Dorothy P. Micheau, 91, passed away early Saturday morning, Feb. 2, 2013, at Marquette General Hospital in Marquette.

Dorothy was born Aug. 19, 1921, in Gladstone, the daughter of Charles and Flossie (Pelkie) Godfrey. She was raised in Gladstone and attended the Gladstone schools. On Nov. 14, 1936, Dorothy was united in marriage to Leon Micheau. Together the couple resided in Rapid River, for a short time, before moving to Ford River and finally settling in Gladstone where they remained for many years. Leon preceded Dorothy in death on April 23, 1996.

Dorothy was a faithful member of the All Saints Catholic Church in Gladstone. She enjoyed going for walks and in later years, she enjoyed participating in activities at Christian Park where she resided for the past year and two months. She will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her son, Robert (Patsy) Micheau of Arkansas; daughters, Barbara (Dave) Lamberg of Gladstone, Doris Pratt of Escanaba; brothers, Lyle (Carol) Godfrey of Gladstone, Everette (Beverly) Godfrey of Escanaba; and sister, Evelyn (Mike) Birkholz of Gladstone. Also surviving is special friend, Rosella Burnard of Escanaba; 12 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Flossie; husband, Leon; daughter, Mary Bricker; son-in-law, David Bricker; brothers, Theodore, Ralph, Gerald, Bill, Manny, Walter, Art, Bob, Ervin and Harrison; sisters, Martha Eagle and Alice Micheau.

Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate the life of Dorothy P. Micheau will be held on Saturday, Feb. 9, at 1 p.m. at All Saints Catholic Church in Gladstone with Rev. Fr. Ronald Timock officiating. Luncheon will follow in the All Saints Parish Hall.

Dorothy will be laid to rest next to her husband, Leon, at the Gardens of Rest Cemetery in Wells. The Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County are assisting the Micheau family with arrangements. Messages of condolence to the Micheau family may be offered online at
