Snowmobile crash kills Spalding man
SPALDING TOWNSHIP – A Spalding man was killed in a snowmobile crash on the Cedar River, according to a Menominee County Sheriff’s Office press release issued Monday.
The driver, Timothy Dean Graham, 24, of Spalding, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash occurred Friday at 11:15 p.m. east of Kell Road in Spalding Township. Deputies said Graham’s snowmobile struck trees on the Cedar River waterway, killing him. Two other snowmobiles were in the group, but no one else was injured.
The Menominee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash, assisted by an accident investigator from the Michigan State Police – Gladstone Post. Speed/loss of control and alcohol appeared to be contributing factors, deputies said. The victim was wearing a helmet and protective equipment. The accident remains under investigation.
