Kilborn Alley Blues Band concert to benefit The Compassionate Friends

GLADSTONE – The Kilborn Alley Blues Band is scheduled to play the first fund-raising concert of the 2013 Blues for a Cause series on Friday, March 8. Since returning from the International Blues Challenge in Memphis on Feb. 5, this hard-working blues band has jumped back into touring with a vengeance.

They will perform at the Terrace Bay Inn in Gladstone at 8 p.m.

Advance tickets are $10 at the Record Rack in Escanaba and $12 at the door.

All profit from this event will benefit the Southern Upper Peninsula branch of The Compassionate Friends, based in Escanaba. The Compassionate Friends is a support group for family members and friends who have suffered the loss of a child, at any age and from any cause.

The local branch was established in September of 2011 by Neil and Betty Hivala, who lost their daughter Laura on Jan. 23, 2010, at the age of 32. The support group meets on the fourth Thursday of every month at 7 p.m. in the conference room at the Escanaba Area High School.
