Nancy L. Diehl
RAPID RIVER – Nancy L. Diehl, 76, of 7896 Old Wilsey Bay Road, Rapid River (Stonington), passed away Monday, March 4, 2013, at Marquette General Hospital in Marquette. She was born March 18, 1936, in Monroe, Mich., and was the daughter of Calvin and Leona Farner. Nancy graduated from high school from the Ferris Institute.
The former Nancy Farner married Robert Diehl on Jan. 14, 1956, in Monroe, Mich. They lived in Monroe until moving to Stonington in 1996. Nancy was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aid at church, member of the 500 Card Club in Stonington and she enjoyed playing bingo and visiting with people. Nancy loved holidays and making gift bags for others.
Nancy L. Diehl is survived by: husband, Robert; sons, Rick (Delia) Diehl of Minneapolis, Minn., Ronald Diehl of Monroe, Mich., Randall (Anne) Diehl of Findlay, Ohio; four grandchildren; sisters, June Lewis of Erie, Mich., Betty Smith of Erie, Mich., several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brother, William Farner, and sisters Patricia Eldridge, Doris Nisley and Marge Sells.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, March 7, at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Nancy L. Diehl will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at the Anderson Funeral Home with Diane Srutowski, L.L.M. officiating. A luncheon will be served following the funeral services at the Stonington Town Hall in Stonington. Burial will take place in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery.
