Donald N. Russell
STREAMWOOD, Ill. – Donald N. Russell (Aug. 23, 1921 – March 4, 2013). Donald N. Russell, 91, of Streamwood (formerly of Gladstone), passed away Monday, March 4, 2013. Donald was born Aug. 23, 1921, in Gladstone, the son of Donald “Dan” and Lela (Nicholas) Russell.
Donald was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and he was very passionate about the Bible and his faith. Donald was an avid Chicago White Sox fan. He was a self-taught musician and in his younger years, he played in a country band, and later in life he played the organ for the Seventh Day Adventist Church. He will be sadly missed.
Survivors include daughters Sharon and Linda Russell, Regina Provenzano; granddaughters Nicole and Lindsey; great-grandson Braxten; one aunt and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years Essie, parents and 10 brothers and sisters.
Donald’s family will receive friends on Friday, March 8, from 12 to 2 p.m. at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone.
Funeral services celebrating the life of Donald N. Russell will follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Jacob Gibbs of the Seventh Day Adventist Church officiating. Luncheon will follow at the All Saints Church Parish Hall. Donald will be laid to rest at the Fernwood Cemetery in Gladstone.
