Larry Otis Smith
DAGGETT – Larry Otis Smith, 67, of Daggett, entered eternal life Monday, March 18, 2013, at Marquette General Hospital.
Larry was born March 15, 1946, in Fairport, a son of Otis Louis and LaVerle Alice (Watchorn) Smith. Following graduation, he worked for a time as a commercial fisherman in Fairport before serving in the U.S. Army. Throughout the years, Larry was employed as a pipefitter at offshore oil rigs, made trap nets, and processed caviar. During his final working years, he was employed at the power plant in Marquette. In his leisure, he enjoyed drawing, gardening, and reading. He was a loving son and brother.
Larry is survived by a daughter, Shelley Todd; two granddaughters, Ella and Alyssa Todd; three sisters, Joanne (Richard) Kauthen of Hale, Cheryl (David) Paulson of Daggett, and Jean (Dean) Watson of Appleton, Wis. He was preceded in death by his father in 1993 and mother in 1995.
Honoring the family’s request, private family services will be held in the spring.
