Rosemarie ‘Rose’ Mleczewski
MARQUETTE – Rosemarie “Rose” Mleczewski, 78, loving wife, proud mother and nurturing grandmother, formerly of Detroit, Fowlerville and Cheboygan, Mich., passed away Friday, March 1, 2013, at the D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans, where she currently resided.
Rose was born July 10, 1934, in Detroit, the daughter of Charles and Alice (Basil) Moses. She was raised in Detroit where she attended school. On Oct. 9, 1954, Rose was united in marriage to the blue-eyed, love of her life, Eugene A. Mleczewski, in Detroit, and together had three children, Eugene M., Kenneth and Mark.
Rosemarie enjoyed cooking, baking and gardening, but more importantly, spending quality time with her family. She worked primarily as a homemaker for the majority of her life and her philosophy was always, “Family comes first.” Rose held a strong faith in the power of prayer and has now been graced with the role of Guardian Angel to all who were honored to know her in life.
In addition to her loving husband, Eugene; Rose leaves her sons, Eugene M. (Diana) Mleczewski of Las Vegas, Nev., Kenneth (Jan) Mleczewski of Cheboygan, Mich., Mark (Lisa) Mleczewski of Rapid River; brother, Edward “Butch” Moses of Scottsdale, Ariz.; sister, Audrey Engerson of Fowlerville, Mich. Also listed among the surviving family are grandchildren, Robert, Heather, Benjamin and Marcus.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Alice; brothers, Charles “Chuck” and Louis Moses; sister, Mary Serna.
A Catholic memorial service to celebrate the life of Rosemarie “Rose” Mleczewski will take place on Saturday, June 8, at 1 p.m. at the D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans with Rev. Fr. Emmett Norden officiating. The Mleczewski family requests that memorial contributions be made to your local food pantry in memory of Rose. Envelopes will be available at the Jacobetti chapel and at the Skradski Family Funeral Homes of Delta County.
