Luella Irene ‘Bunny’ Roberts
ESCANABA – Luella Irene “Bunny” Roberts, 90, of the Bishop Noa Home in Escanaba, was welcomed into an eternal relationship with our Lord on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at the Bishop Noa Home following a lengthy illness.
Luella was born July 10, 1922, in Gladstone the daughter of David and Ethel (Orvis) LaBumbard. She was employed as a sales clerk with the Fair Store in Escanaba. Bunny was a member of the All Saints Church in Gladstone.
She had a very special relationship with God, always praying for others. Her hobbies included reading, knitting, and crocheting.
She also loved to bowl, go dancing, roller-skating and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her sister, Genevieve Lorraine Pierce of Bishop Noa Home; grandchild, Richard Nelson; and great-grandchildren, Alex Nelson and Jordan Nelson; nieces, Sandra (Pierce) Carlson of Rapid River, and Patricia (Hoskins) Klemmer of Las Vegas, Nev.; nephews, Allan Hoskins, of Vassar, Mich., Kyle Tagge of Swartz, Mich., Ken Tagge of Flint, Mich., and David Tagge of Boulder City, Nev.
In addition to her parents, Bunny was preceded in death by her husband, Antoine Roberts; sons, David Gordon Nelson, Richard James Nelson, Lorin Dale Nelson; brother, Dale LaBumbard; sisters and brothers-in-law, Marjorie and Reginald Wills, Lucille and Rusty Drumb, Alzetta and Roy Tagge, and Kenneth Pierce; nieces, Margaret Jean (Pierce) Greene and Faye (Wills) Hackett; nephew, Roger Hoskins.
Bunny’s family will receive friends on Monday, April 29, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone.
Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 5:30 p.m. at the All Saints Church in Gladstone with Rev. Fr. Ronald Timock officiating. Luncheon will follow in the All Saints Parish Hall.
She will be laid to rest at the Fernwood Cemetery in Gladstone. Memorial contributions in memory of Bunny may be directed to the V.F.W. Wounded Soldiers.
