St. Francis de Sales Catholic School in Manistique recently had an assembly called the Science of Toys. The Science of toys is an unique combination of scientific principles and the one thing students relate to toys – toys that float, toys that fly, toys that spin, toys that bounce, toys that even walk and talk. With a focus on physical science students learn about gyroscopic stability as it relates to toys. Pictured is eighth-grade student, Jacob Arnold, as he helps demonstrate circular motion. Basic electricity is also covered. Isn’t Science suppose to be uninteresting? What’s all this about toys ? It is about toying around with a scientific idea.
