Clara M. Lake
ESCANABA – Clara M. Lake, 79, of Escanaba, passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2013, at the Christian Park Health Care Center.
Clara was born May 26, 1933, in Superior, Wis., the daughter of Sheldon and Agnes “Ruby” (VanErt) Noggle. At an early age Clara moved to Gladstone with her family. She graduated from the Gladstone High School and was a parishioner of the All Saints Catholic Church. Clara eventually moved to Escanaba where she worked as a bookkeeper and receptionist for Northern Motor Rebuilders for many years until her retirement in 1998. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, cake decorating, genealogy, working with stained glass and sewing. Clara most enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her many grand dogs and cats.
Clara is survived by two daughters, Roberta (Robert) Benson of Escanaba and Coleen Lake of Rapid River; son, Peter (Pam) Lake of Gladstone; two grandchildren, Jason (Megan) Boudreau and Lindsey Benson; two great-grandchildren, Logan and Laine Boudreau; her sister, Edie (Ray) Warner of Wells; her brother, James Noggle of Sheboygan, Wis.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law, Linda Noggle.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 20, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Skradski Family Funeral Home in Escanaba. Memorial services will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Fr. Gil Neurohr officiating.
