Esky track splits dual meet with Menominee

MENOMINEE – The Escanaba Eskymos came away with mixed results from a dual track meet Thursday, with the girls winning 83-54 and the boys dropping a 78-59 decision.

Esky’s Lynsey Collins won three individual events, taking the 100-meter dash in 13.25 seconds. 200 (27.87) and 300 hurdles (51.08).

Holly Ettenhofer added firsts in pole vault at eight feet and shot put (29-2).

The Esky boys, led by senior Andrew Stenberg, swept all three places in the 1600. Stenberg was clocked at 4:52.63, followed by Eric Cousineau (4:53.55) and Jordan Ogren (4:54.92).

Cousineau then took the 3200 (10:55.71), with Stenberg runner-up (10:56.77).

The Esky boys resume under the lights tonight at Gladstone. The girls continue Saturday in the Negaunee Lions Invitational.
