She graduated from Bark River-Harris High School and received her associate’s degree in child development from Lansing Community College. She was a dedicated state of Michigan employee for over 30 years, working in the Department of Public Health and the Office of Attorney General as an IT analyst. Following her retirement in 2011, she worked part time at Kohl’s and Curves.

Myra is survived by her husband, Steve of 27 years; daughters, Emma and Hanna of Lansing; mother, Doris Cmejla; sister Laurel (Mike) Stephens; brothers, David (Judy) Cmejla and Russell Wayne (Donna) Cmejla, all of Perronville; brother-in-law, Mike (Mary) Holmi of Battle Creek, Mich., and sister-in-law, Charlotte (Jim) Kuehni of DePere, Wis.; along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Russell.

Myra was especially proud of her daughters Emma and Hanna and loved them more than life itself.

She always encouraged them to do their best, work hard, and to be true to themselves. She loved attending all of their sporting events, dance recitals and school functions. Her family always came first in her life and she greatly enjoyed the many special family vacations that were taken.

Myra loved to laugh, but was not afraid to cry. She was a kind and generous person, yet spirited with a wonderful sense of humor. She always tried to live each and every day to the very fullest. Her strong faith in God, along with the strength and courage she exhibited during her illness, were awe inspiring.
