James ‘Jim’ Paul Truckey
ESCANABA – James “Jim” Paul Truckey, of Escanaba, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2013, following an apparent heart attack.
Jim was born on July 12, 1958, in Oshkosh, Wis. He graduated from Gladstone High School.
Jim had many friends and a great love for music. He enjoyed fishing the Great Lakes and singing. He was an accomplished bowler with various trophies and a high score of 210. Jim was also an avid Lions fan; but unlike his cherished bowling trophies – no Lions trophies were available to display.
Jim previously worked at Lakestate Industries. He was a kind and gentle soul who enjoyed making people laugh.
He is survived by his mother, Betty Homernik; siblings, Lila Mutsch, Donna Gustafson, Bonnie (Lester) Sexton, Debbie (Doug) Johnson, Larry (Patti) Homernik, Debra (Mike) Farrell, John Homernik, Joe Homernik, Dan Homernik, Diane (Ken) Swanson, Valerie Truckey, Lori (Aaron) Linden, Mary Grace (Dan) Wilcox, and Bill Forvilly; along with many nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, James Truckey; and siblings, Geraldine Bink and Bill Hescott.
Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Jim’s life on Tuesday, May 28, at Agape Ministries Church, 1420 Sheridan Ave., Escanaba. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at 6 p.m. with Pastor Art Kievit officiating. A luncheon will follow.
