PTC makes big difference at Jones School

This week’s bouquets go to:

From the staff at James T. Jones Elementary School:

“We would like to send a huge thank you to our PTC for all their hard work and dedication they have shown throughout the school year. An end of the year boost was felt by all with the special events they planned during Staff Appreciation Week. They work so hard for the students and staff at James T. Jones. Together we do make a difference!”

From the Delta-Menominee County Heart of the North Lions:

“A huge thank you to all our friends and local businesses who donated gifts, money and/or services for our first Kentucky Derby Party. It was an overwhelming success, so of course we also need to give a huge thank you to all of the people who attended and were a part of all the evening’s activities. It was fun. We are already planning next year’s Derby Party, May 3, 2014, so ladies and gents start thinking about your hat!”

From the Public Health, Delta and Menominee Counties:

“Public Health, Delta and Menominee Counties would like to send a bouquet to North Bluff Grocery, Elmer’s County Market and Super One Foods for partnering with us to provide the Sticker Shock program in their stores on May 18-19. This campaign promotes the message reminding people of the Michigan Law in which ‘it is a crime for any person to sell or provide alcohol to a minor with up to a $1,000 fine and/or up to 60 days in jail for a first time conviction.’ Please don’t provide alcohol to minors!

Our appreciation goes out to all those who helped support the program. Thank you for making underage drinking prevention a priority.”

From Wendy Pepin of Escanaba:

“A belated thank you is extended to the Delta County Jail work release crew who shoveled snow this winter for some of Escanaba’s homebound citizens. They were reliable, fast, efficient and friendly and were truly a life line for some of our neighbors. Thank you.”

Each Saturday the Daily Press salutes individuals and groups from our area who have had a very positive impact on the way we live.

We identify our bouquet recipients in one of two ways: from Daily Press news pages and from nominations sent in by our readers.

Mail us a postcard or letter identifying your nomination and putting into detail what they’ve done. Include your name, address, and phone number. Send nominations to Saturday Bouquets, The Daily Press, 600 Ludington Street, Escanaba, MI 49829.
