Robert Raymond Jensen

ESCANABA – Robert Raymond Jensen, 72, came into this world on Feb. 25, 1941, to Mildred and Raymond Jensen of Escanaba. Bob was born and raised in Escanaba. He was an Escanaba High School graduate of 1958. He worked at Pete Kobasics’ neighborhood store for many years. He was well-known for making a skating rink for the kids close to his home. He went into the Navy and returned home often. Bob served his country for 30 years. He is a decorated veteran, having served in Vietnam. He was stationed on the West Coast during shore duty, and has seen more of the world than most of us ever will, on deployment. He spent 20 years of deployment out to sea. His soul departed May 20, 2013, at home with his family and friends around him. Bob regularly performed Missionary work on the Navajo reservation in New Mexico. He married Joyce Kessick in 1980 in Memphis, Tenn.

The most important thing to Bob was his love of the Lord, his family and friends!

He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce; daughters, Camilla Jensen, Robyn (Justin) Stucks of Scottsdale, Ariz., Mary (Mike) Deneen/David of San Diego, Calif.; sons, Mike (Dawn) Deneen of ElMirage, Ariz., Paul (Debbie) Harshman of Conroe, Texas, Danny (Tracy) Kessick/Clark of Pellston, Mich.; sister, Julie Servant of Gladstone; uncles, Orville Jensen and Kermit Johnson (Ar) of Escanaba; and sister-in-law, Darlene Jensen of Escanaba; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his father, Raymond Jensen; mother, Mildred (Blixt) Jensen; brothers John and Clifford Jensen; sister, Nancy Andersen; and brothers-in-law, David Anderson and Wayne Servant.

Memorial services, led by Pastor Judy Kincaid, will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Escanaba on Saturday, June 15 at 1 p.m. Please come and share in the celebration of what a great and wonderful life Bob Jensen lived. His body will be laid to rest with full military honors at the National Veterans Cemetery in Phoenix, Ariz.
