Volunteers make local events possible

This week’s bouquets go to:

From James T. Jones Elementary:

“The students and staff of James T. Jones Elementary would like to thank the PTC and other parent volunteers for their hard work at the end-of-the-year picnic held on June 4. What a wonderful way to finish the school year!”

From the Friends of the Escanaba Public Library:

“The Friends of the Escanaba Public Library would like to extend a huge thank you to all who attended and helped with our Annual Ice Cream Social – especially the Boy Scouts – Carolyn Barb Karen and all the library staff and the Escanaba City Band. It was a beautiful night and a great kick-off to Summer. Enjoy,”

From Adrian and Reid Brazeau of Escanaba:

“We would like to thank all the staff and families, especially Principal Reeves, at Lemmer Elementary School for making the pop tab drive for C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital such a success. We appreciate the outpouring of support, and can’t wait to deliver the pop tabs to the Ronald McDonald house and show our support from Escanaba.”

Each Saturday the Daily Press salutes individuals and groups from our area who have had a very positive impact on the way we live.

We identify our bouquet recipients in one of two ways: from Daily Press news pages and from nominations sent in by our readers.

Mail us a postcard or letter identifying your nomination and putting into detail what they’ve done. Include your name, address, and phone number. Send nominations to Saturday Bouquets, The Daily Press, 600 Ludington Street, Escanaba, MI 49829.

They may also be sent to us by going to our Web site, www.dailypress.net, and clicking on the submit news button. Once there, click on “Bouquets” and follow the simple instructions.
