Lyle A. Bell
CLEVELAND, Ohio – Lyle A. Bell, 80, of Cleveland, Ohio, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 20, 2013, after a courageous battle with heart disease. He was born in Faithorn, Mich., to the late, Laurence and Geraldine Bell. Lyle lived in Escanaba, Mich., before moving to the Cleveland area in 1982. He was an Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict and was the owner and operator of Hiawatha Motel in Escanaba for many years. He enjoyed building homes and restoring cars and was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed by all that knew him. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Olson Bell and several siblings.
Survivors include his children, Steven G. and (Linda) Bell of Eaton Rapids, Mich., Janis L. and (Allan) Dawson of McDonald, Tenn., Mark Bell of Chickamauga, Ga., and Camille A. and (Roy) Sherlin of Cleveland, Tenn.; sister, Marion Tomich of Carlton, Mich.; brothers, Thomas Bell of Escanaba, Mich., and Walter Bell of Appleton, Wis.; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday, June 24, at the Anderson Funeral Home. Delta County Veterans services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Monday at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services celebrating the life of Lyle Bell will be held at 5 p.m. Monday at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Strom officiating. A luncheon will be served following the funeral services at the New Life Assembly of God Church. Burial will take place in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Envelopes will be available at the Anderson Funeral Home.
