Woman pleads guilty to torturing, abusing son
ESCANABA – An Escanaba woman pleaded guilty today of torturing and abusing her son at their Escanaba home.
Susan Marie Bardo, 46, pleaded guilty to torture and first-degree child abuse during a plea agreement in Delta County Circuit Court.
Bardo’s boyfriend, Carl James Pellinen, 47, is scheduled for a plea hearing in circuit court later today.
The two defendants were arrested April 12 on charges of first-degree child abuse, first-degree criminal sexual conduct, and torture of Bardo’s 15-year-old son during a four-year period.
