Glen W. Rudden
ESCANABA – Glen W. Rudden, 77, 3115 5th Ave. S., Escanaba, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, June 29, 2013, of natural causes.
He was born on March 29, 1936, in Escanaba, son of Joseph A. and Rose Ann (LaFave) Rudden. Glen graduated from Escanaba High School in 1955.
He served in the National Guard from 1954 to 1957.
On Aug. 9, 1958, Glenn married the former Carol Ann Meloche at Sacred Heart Church in Schaffer.
Glen was employed with Harnischfeger Corporation for 30 years and then worked at the Escanaba High School for 15 years until his retirement.
He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church.
Glen was a devoted volunteer with OSF St. Francis Hospital Auxiliary, RSVP Program, and the Eskymo Fan Club.
He enjoyed going to all of his grandchildren’s sporting events, traveling around the country, playing cards, going to Elmer’s Restaurant for coffee with the guys, and being with his friends.
Among survivors include his wife, Carol of Escanaba; five children, Debbie (Dale) Mokszycke of Escanaba, Barb (Todd) Hunter of Plymouth, Wis., Sheri (John) Gasparick of Little Chute, Wis., Jerry (Dana) Rudden of Marquette and Greg Rudden of Escanaba; daughter-in-law, Hope Rudden of Escanaba; 14 grandchildren, Eric (Carolyn), Andy (fiancee, Mindy Pearson) and Jennie Mokszycke, Kimberlee and Karissa Rudden, Jaren, Lindsey and Garrett Rudden, Zachary, Joshua, Stephanie and Will Hunter, and Travis and Sarah Gasparick; and one great-granddaughter, Maliyah. He is also survived by two sisters, Mary Stoykovich of Wells and Theresa (Ralph) Krause of Ford River.
Glen was preceded in death by siblings, Jack Rudden, Mike Rudden, Pat Rudden, and Zita (Frank) Bednasz.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 3, from 1 to 5:30 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Escanaba. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 6 p.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church with Rev. Rick Courier officiating.
Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the Rudden family with arrangements.
