Cindy R. Zini

POWERS – Cindy R. (Nye/Roy) Zini, 56, of Powers, was born July 9, 1956, to Ruth and Roy Nye of Hessel, Mich. and passed away peacefully after a year long battle with cancer with her son, William Roy; first husband, Steve Roy; and sister, Charlene Jefsen, at her side at their home in Green Bay, Wis., on July 4. Green Bay is where she received the best of care from St. Vincent Hospital.

Cindy dedicated 33 years of her life to caring for others at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility in Powers. Cindy enjoyed anything to do with the outdoors including gardening and canning, camping and especially spending time with her grandkids. She also enjoyed a good book and loved to read. She was a collector of many things. She enjoyed antiques and she loved to make simple fun.

Cindy is survived by her only son, William Roy of Powers; her first husband, Steve Roy of Green Bay, Wis.; and three grandchildren, Taylor Roy, Justin Stenberg and Dustin Lanaville also of Powers. Cindy is also survived by husband, Don Zini, and his son, Daniel Zini, also from the Powers area.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 13, at the Bark River Bible Church at 11 a.m. (EDT), 10 a.m. (CDT). A simple luncheon will follow the service and everybody is invited to attend a birthday celebration for Cindy following the memorial at TJ’s Sports Bar in downtown Powers.
