Gartland awarded veterinary degree
EAST LANSING – Lisa S. Gartland has recently graduated with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Michigan State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine.
Gartland’s interests in her field include large animals, wildlife, and international medicine highlighted by a recent externship in South Africa.
Dr. Gartland has recently accepted a position in southern Colorado at Montezuma Veterinary Clinic.
She is the daughter of Bob and Julie Gartland, granddaughter of Ken and Pat Gartland. and great-granddaughter of Josephine Grenier, all of Escanaba. She is a 2005 graduate of Escanaba Area High School and a 2009 graduate of Lewis University near Chicago where she received her bachelor’s degree in biology.
Rusch is NMU honors grad
MARQUETTE – Heather L. Rusch graduated magna cum laude from Northern Michigan University in May with a bachelor’s degree in psychology – graduate preparation and a minor in English.
She plans to further her education by studying for her master’s degree in the fall at Northern Michigan University in training, development and performance with a special emphasis on organizational change.
After completion of this degree she plans to pursue her long-term goal of obtaining a Ph.D. in industrial/organizational psychology while also pursuing her enthusiasm and passion in art and writing.
Heather is a 2009 graduate of Escanaba High School and a 2011 graduate of Bay de Noc Community College. She is the daughter of Richard and Cheryl Rusch of Escanaba.
