Carley F. Stiemert
NEENAH, Wis. – Carley F. Stiemert, of Neenah, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 15, 2013, at Theda Clark Medical Center, with the loving arms of her husband wrapped around her. Also by her side was her niece, Diane, whom she thought of as her daughter. Carley Francine was born May 22, 1940, in Escanaba, daughter of the late John and Ruth (Temple) Kirkpatrick.
Carley met Whitlow Stiemert at the “5 and Dime” in Escanaba, she was the candy girl and he was the stock boy and he loved to pull her orders first. They were married on Feb. 18, 1961, in Escanaba, and they celebrated 52 years together, residing in Neenah, Wis.
Carley worked at King Industries in Oshkosh and also ran her own business from her home for 10 years before retiring from Plexus. She was an excellent seamstress. Carley was happy when she shot her first doe and enjoyed fishing trips to Canada with her husband.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Whitlow of Neenah; nieces: Deborah (Bob) Sword-St Cyr of Gladstone, Mollie Sword of Escanaba, Diane (Wayne) DeGrand of Menasha, Wis., and Sandra Brinker, Fond du Lac, Wis. She is further survived by other nieces, nephews and many friends.
Carley was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, 2013, at Neenah’s Westgor Funeral Home, with The Rev. Mark Klaisner officiating. The visitation will be held Sunday from 2 p.m. until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your charity of choice. Inurnment will take place in Lakeview Cemetery in Escanaba.
