No bones about it, summer readers are having a ball

A recent “dinosaur dig” at the Escanaba Public Library gave area youth a chance to try their hand at Paleontology during a summer reading program event. During the mock fossil dig, which was provided by Al Hansen of Escanaba, participants used small brooms to remove sand from a tent-covered pile in search of approximately 116 clay “Stegosaurus bones.” Once uncovered, the numbered pieces were placed in their corresponding places on a large outline of a Stegosaurus skeleton.
