Sesquicentennial celebration gets rave reviews

This week’s bouquets go to:

From Roni Rose D’Eustachio of Sahuarita, Ariz.:

“I wish to thank Kay Johnson Bonnie Wenick-Kutz and the entire committee for the invitation for me and my court to attend and participate in the 150th celebration of Escanaba in the parade on a float provided by and decorated by Garceau Wenick-Kutz Magowan Insurance Agency.

It was quite a thrill to be so well received by the people of the Escanaba Area after so many years – 50 years to be precise.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

1963 Centennial Queen, Roni Rose D’Eustachio and Sue Virgo Solka, Peggy Munson Bryson and Judy Benson Vader.”

From Kathleen Creten of Escanaba:

“Wow! Our Esky 150 celebration was marvelous in every way. A big thank you to the organizers, volunteers, performers, and participants for making this a spectacular 10 days.

“Escanaba is an exceptional community which offers a multitude of activities from which to choose. The artistic and performance talent in this area is exceptional. Imagine that most performances offered during our celebration were done by volunteers. People who perform for the love of it. We are very lucky. Thank you Esky 150.”

From Susan Roberts of Escanaba:

“The Roberts family would like to thank the Escanaba Little League for honoring their husband, dad and grandpa and also Steve Irving with plagues this past Saturday, July 20, during the opening ceremonies of the Senior Girls State Tournament. Also a tree was planted in Dan’s honor out beyond the fence of the Center field.

“Also, thank you to all that were involved with the 150 Celebration, it was such a major event for Escanaba. There were so many activities for everyone of all ages and the excitement around town was great to see. Thanks again for all the hard work.”

From Carol Butryn of Escanaba:

“Thank you, Daily Press, for the beautiful Then and Now insert to tonight’s (Monday, July 22) paper. I liked the first one, and this is even better. Will make a nice souvenir of the great 150 Escanaba Celebration. Didn’t that committee do a wonderful job? Thank you.”
