Kay Ann Bal
HERMANSVILLE – Kay Ann Bal, 53, of Hermansville, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013, at her home.
She was born in Norway on June 20, 1960, the daughter of Kenneth and Kathy (Reath) Olson.
Kay graduated from North Central High School and went on to receive her bachelor’s degree in accounting from Lake Superior State University.
She worked at the Kingsford High School, Besse Forest Products, and at the Delta-Menominee Health Center.
Kay enjoyed gardening, canning, animals, winter sports, hunting and crafts.
She married Timothy Bal on Aug. 14, 2010; she was a loving wife and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Kay is survived by her husband, Tim; sons, Tim Olson of Hermansville and Derek (Rachelle) Olson of Bark River; daughter, Julie (Chad) Miller of Petoskey; stepson Kyle Bal of Hermansville; stepdaughter, Jessica Bal of Hermansville; granddaughter, Scarlet Miller; father and stepmother, Kenneth and Barbara Olson; brother, Ken (Maria) Olson of Hermansville; father and mother-in-law, Don and Jan Bal of Norway; stepbrothers, Larry and Chris Ross, Bob Miller and Mike Macygin; special friends, Leslie, Carol and Cheryl.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Kathy Reath Bray.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Aug. 9, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Ortman Funeral Home in Norway.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. at Ortman Funeral Home with Fr. Timothy Ekaitis, pastor of St. Mary’s Church in Norway, presiding.
Interment will follow at the Norway Township Cemetery.
