Gladstone Man jailed for assaulting police
GLADSTONE – A 34-year-old man was taken into custody Friday and faces multiple charges, including assaulting police and corrections officers.
Officers from Gladstone Public Safety responded to the 500 block of Wisconsin Avenue at 3:10 p.m. Friday for a welfare check on a 34-year-old male and 14-year-old male. Upon their arrival, officers determined the 34-year-old male was intoxicated and was in violation of his court-ordered bond conditions.
When the suspect was placed under arrest, he violently resisted, assaulted two officers and kicked out the rear window of the marked patrol car, according to a news release from Gladstone Public Safety.
Upon his arrival at the Delta County Jail, the man again fought with corrections officers.
Multiple charges are being sought in connection to the incident including a felony malicious destruction of property to a patrol vehicle, assaulting two officers, assaulting a corrections officer, resisting and obstructing, and bond violation.
The name of the male subject is not being released, pending review by the Delta County Prosecutor’s Office.
