Summer reading program a hit
This week’s bouquets go to:
From Kari Fassbender:
“The Gladstone School and Public Library would like to give a big thank you to all of the area businesses, patrons, the Altrusa Club, and the Friends of the Gladstone Library who helped make our summer reading program a huge success. We appreciate their support to enhance literacy in our community.”
From Cindy A. Bender:
“The William Bonifas Fine Arts Center thanks each and every volunteer at the 42nd Waterfront Arts Festival on Aug. 3. The kind and able-bodied assistance of many made the moving run smoothly. Others were a calm and welcoming presence in the Young Artist Tent. The raffle tent volunteers did an outstanding job in a hectic and sometimes quite breezy environment. The food vendors and entertainers deserve a standing ovation. And thanks to everyone who exhibited their artistic talents, and to those who attended. See you next August!”
Each Saturday the Daily Press salutes individuals and groups from our area who have had a very positive impact on the way we live.
We identify our bouquet recipients in one of two ways: from Daily Press news pages and from nominations sent in by our readers.
Mail us a postcard or letter identifying your nomination and putting into detail what they’ve done. Include your name, address, and phone number. Send nominations to Saturday Bouquets, The Daily Press, 600 Ludington Street, Escanaba, MI 49829.
They may also be sent to us by going to our Web site, www.dailypress.net, and clicking on the submit news button. Once there, click on “Bouquets” and follow the simple instructions.
