ESCANABA – Phyllis Glurdenwood, 83, former resident of the West Highland Apartments, passed away at the home of her sister in law on Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013.
She was born on Aug. 1, 1930, in Escanaba.
Phyllis was the daughter of Joseph and Helen (Henry) Rademacher. Phyllis attended school at the Ford River Mill School and was a lifelong resident of Escanaba. Phyllis married Erving Dahm and he preceded her in death on Jan. 9, 1965.
On Oct. 11, 1972, Phyllis married Eugene Glurdenwood in Escanaba. He preceded her in death on Sept. 27, 2001.
Phyllis worked for St. Francis Hospital for 21 years as a cafeteria aide and also in housekeeping, retiring in 1985. She worked as a volunteer Senior Companion and at St. Jude’s Adult Foster Care as a volunteer caregiver. She enjoyed playing cards, watching game shows, taking rides in her car, and visiting her many friends. She was a member of St. Joseph and St. Patrick’s Church.
Survivors include her sister in law, Ethel Rademacher; and her nieces and nephews, Janet (Randy) Snowden, Stephen (Connie) Rademacher, Mary Jo (David) Wellman, Lynn Cole and Kris Rademacher.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Rademacher; and infant sister, Mary, as well as husbands Erving and Eugene.
In keeping with the wishes of Phyllis, no services will be held.
The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the family.
