Police probe fatal motorcycle crash

IRON MOUNTAIN – Investigation continues into a fatal motorcycle accident that claimed the life of a 21-year-old Bark River man on Saturday in Dickinson County, according to a press release from the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Department.

Riley T. Klee, of W914 County Road 400, Bark River, was pronounced dead at the scene following a motorcycle accident on M-69 near Quarry Road in Felch Township.

Klee was westbound on the highway when he lost control of the 2012 Honda at around 11:30 p.m. The motorcycle struck a guardrail on the north side of the road and went airborne, ejecting Klee and a male passenger from the bike, said deputies.

They were not wearing helmets. Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash, according to the news release.

The passenger was transported to Dickinson County Memorial Hospital. His name is not being released at this time.

Assisting at the scene were Michigan State Police, Felch Township Volunteer Fire Department, IFR Ambulance, Nordic Ambulance, and Cerasoli Towing.
