Dawn Carol (Bergman) Scheuren
CORNELL – Dawn Carol (Bergman) Scheuren, 70, of Cornell, passed away Tuesday evening, Aug. 27, 2013, at home following a brief illness with her family by her side.
Dawn was born April 15, 1943, in Laona, Wis., the daughter of Edward and Lucille (Carrier) Bergman. She graduated, as valedictorian, from the Almond High School in 1961. Later that year, she moved to Milwaukee. Dawn met her husband, Rodney “Fritz” Scheuren of Cornell, in 1962 and on Sept. 19, 1964, they were united in marriage at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Flat Rock. She was a devoted mother and enjoyed making her family happy.
She worked in various capacities for Target for 25 years, retiring as department manager in 2006. She was an avid outdoors woman, enjoyed fishing, camping and hunting. She most enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Dawn is survived by her husband, Rodney; her daughter, Korene (John) Palazzo of Hoffman Estates, Ill.; her son, Gary (Hans Schwab) Scheuren of East Lansing, Mich.; and three grandchildren, Ashley, Connor and Brady. Dawn was very blessed with a large and loving extended family, including many brothers and sisters in law, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also cherished by her close friends and neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a nephew, Brian Gregson and her mother and father-in-law, Evelyn and Howard “Fuzzy” Scheuren.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, Aug. 31, from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Skradski Family Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services will follow at 5 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Lewis Hague officiating. Dawn will be laid to rest in the Forest Home Cemetery in Watson at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday.
