Boy Scouts cash in on Rockin’ Festival

Boy Scout Troop 466 of Gladstone received a pleasant surprise on Wednesday when the troop was presented with a check for $3,200.50 from members of the Gladstone Yacht Club. The funds were proceeds from the Rockin’ the Bay 2013 Music Festival held July 12 and 13. One hundred percent of the admission fees were donated to the Scouts and will be used to fund Troop activities, such as supplies and gear, and assist with Scouting camp expenses. Scouts from the Troop assisted with the festival by selling ads and putting up fences. One Scout alone brought in $800 worth of ads in a single day. On hand for the presentation were: from left, Scouts David Dick and Matthew Falcon; Bill Ehrhardt, Yacht Club treasurer; Jacob Siedlecki, Troop senior patrol leader; Scoutmaster Jamie Siedlecki; Fay Bopp, Yacht Club commander; and Scouts Lukas Dick and Addison Vanden Heuvel.
