SMITH – Mara Tryan and Benda Smith of Black Mountain, N.C., welcomed their second son, Jaden William Smith, born on July 30 at 5:11 a.m. at Mission Hospital in Asheville, N.C. Jaden weighed 6 pounds, 14 ounces, and was 18 3/4 inches long.
The new baby joins big brother, Kaden, at home.
Jaden’s grandparents are Earl and Karen Tryan of Escanaba, Thelma Zigbuo of Columbia, Md., and Samuel Smith of Liberia, Africa.
Great-grandparents are Ruby Tryan of Escanaba, and yah yampu Zigbuo of Liberia.
VAN EFFEN – A baby girl is the second child for Nicholas and Erika (Lopez) Van Effen of Temecla, Calif. The infant, named Sadie Grace, was delivered at 6:39 a.m. on June 14 at Rancho Springs Medical Center in Murrietta, Calif. She weighed 1 pound, 8 ounces at birth and was 11 inches long.
Sadie joins a sister, Hailey, in the family.
The baby’s grandparents are Robert and Becky Lopez of Dale City, Va., and Robert and Yvonne Van Effen of Escanaba.
Great-grandparents are Cuca DeLeon, Felipe Lopez, and David Lopez, all of Texas, and Shirley Brunette of Escanaba and Harold Van Effen of Gladstone.
WITTE – Nolan Matthew is the name chosen for the newborn son of Matthew and Nicole Witte of Escanaba. The infant weighed 6 pounds, 1.7 ounces, and was 18 1/2 inches long when he was delivered at OSF St. Francis Hospital at 7:26 p.m. on July 26.
The mother is the former Nicole Sarasin.
Nolan’s maternal grandparents are Michelle and Patrick Grenier of Rapid River. Ruth and Matt Dagenais of Gladstone, and Mark and Theresa Witte of Tucson, Ariz., are the baby’s paternal grandparents.
Great-grandparents are Doris Hansen of Escanaba, Patricia and Jim Rodemeyer of Green Valley, Ariz., and Carl and Linda Witte of Tucson.
