Volunteers make good things happen

This week’s bouquets go to:

From Don Howes, District 10 U.P. Little League District administrator:

“I would like to give a big thank you to the Escanaba Little League and the city of Escanaba for a job well done in hosting not one but two very successful Michigan State Little League softball tournaments this summer.

This was one of the biggest Little League state tournaments to host, hosting two back to back big state championship tournaments in senior softball and the large 16 team 9/10 year old softball state finals.

This big undertaking which took a lot of preplanning brought in players and fans from throughout Michigan to Escanaba for nearly two weeks added a lot of extra revenue for the Escanaba economy.

I have been around a lot of state little league tournaments and this is as good as it gets. Thank you Escanaba for a job well done!”

From Gina Zanon, Escanaba:

“The organizers of the Delta County Heritage Half would like to thank the countless number of people volunteered to help make the race a great success. We thank you for all your support and your desire to continue to make Delta County a great place to live.”

From Jim Hansen, Escanaba:

“Huge thank you to all the fans, parents, players, community members, and supporters of Eskymo football. We had our annual Eskymo Football Card Fundraiser and we also had an Elmer’s Meat Sale Fundraiser and both were extremely successful again this year. We wouldn’t be able to do what we do without all of you!”

From Steven Howe, Escanaba:

“The Escanaba 9U would like to thank the sponsors to help make this baseball season successful.”

From Judy Owens, Escanaba:

“Altrusa International of Escanaba would like to thank the many people and organizations that help us with our Second Annual Rummage Sale. Thank you to the public for the wonderful donations, to the owner and manager of the building located at 702 Ludington Street, to St Ann Church for the use of tables, to all the helpers who set up and ran the rummage sale, and to the public who purchase all the special items that helps our organization to continue to fund projects.

Proceeds go to our Escanaba general funds promoting better communities through service by an international network of people with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
