Steven Neil Popour
MENOMINEE – Steven Neil Popour, 59, of Menominee, passed away at home on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 4, 1954, in Cooks, Mich., to the late Leonard and Marcia (Gray) Popour. He married the former Denise Mulhern on Oct. 27, 1989, in Escanaba. Steven liked to hunt and target shoot, throw horseshoes, go bowling and he was an avid Detroit Lions fan. He loved his family and he was especially fond of his grandchildren. Steven was known to help anyone with anything they needed help with. His hobby and his passion was being a mechanic.
Steven is survived by his wife, Denise; three daughters, Marcia Willette of Marinette, Amanda (Bill) Dahn of Gladstone, and Kristi (Nick Kell) Mulhern of Polaski, Wis.; three sons, Cory (Denise) Mulhern of Escanaba, Joseph Popour of Lower Mich., and Robert Mulhern of Menominee; 11 grandchildren, including Paul, Zack, Jon, Dylan, Billy Dahn, Kaylee, Christopher, Katrina, Brittney, Breanna and Thomas; one great-granddaughter, Xendaya; three sisters, Sherry (Bob) Hampton, Jan (Stan) Zickelbach and Amy (Allen) Hutchinson; two brothers, Terry (Snookie) Popour and Mike (Lorrie) Popour; and many nieces, nephews and aunts and uncles.
Along with his parents, Steven was preceded in death by his grandson, Matthew Willette, and his sister, Carol Daunt.
Funeral services for Steven will be held at the Cadieu-Thielen Funeral Home (549 10th Ave. Menominee, Mich. 49858 906-863-3227) on Monday, Oct. 14, at 6 p.m. Family and friends may call the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of services. Rev. Lewis Hague will be officiating. Burial will be in Inwood Township Cemetery in Cooks, Mich.
