BODEN – A daughter, Sophie Mae, is the first child for Escanaba residents, Ben and Rocquel Boden. The baby weighed 8 pounds, 9 ounces, and was 19 inches long when she was delivered at OSF St. Francis Hospital at 8:16 p.m. on Sept. 31.

Bill and Roxanne Lawrence of Escanaba are the infant’s maternal grandparents. Paternal grandparents are Jeff and Carol Boden of Gladstone.

Duane and Kay Lawrence of Manistique are the great-grandparents.

BRIGGS – Chuck and Wendy Briggs of Gladstone welcomed a baby girl, Bailey Mae, on Sept. 11 at 8:04 a.m. Bailey weighed in at 8 pounds, 8 ounces, and was 19.5 inches long.

She joins one sister, Brielle at home.

Dave and Sally Briggs of Ford River, and Jerry and Judy Derouin of Escanaba are Bailey’s grandparents.

JOHNSON – Randall and Milinda Johnson of Rapid River welcomed a baby girl, there first daughter, born at OSF St. Francis Hospital on Sept. 26 at 8:24 A.M. Melissa AnnMarie weighed in at 6 pounds and 10 ounces, and was 18.75 inches long.

The mother is the former Milinda McNally.

The baby’s grandparents are Earl and Millie McNally Sr., and Brian and Alison Johnson, all of Rapid River.

Janet Johnson of Rapid River, Claude and Theresa Alexander of Gladstone,and Earl and Sally McNally Sr., of Brampton are the great-grandparents.

VALIQUETTE – Jason and Tricia (Kobasic) Valiquette of Negaunee Township welcomed a baby boy, Caleb Joseph, on Aug. 23, at 2:53 a.m. Caleb Joseph weighed in at 9 pounds, 9 ounces, and was 21.5 inches long.

He is the couple’s first child.

Claude and Beverly Kobasic, and Joe and Patty Valiquette, all of Escanaba, are Caleb’s grandparents. Evelyn Creten, also of Escanaba, is his great-grandmother.

STELMACH – Michael and Tracy (Smith) Stelmach of Pearland, Texas, are the parents of twin sons, born at Texas Women’s Hospital in Houston on July 18. Luke Thomas weighed 8 pounds, 1 ounce when he was delivered at 12:59 p.m. He was 20 1/4 inches long. His brother, Hayden Michael, arrived one minute later at 1 p.m. Hayden weighed 7 pounds, 6 ounces, and was 18 inches long at birth.

The babies join two sisters, Victoria and Cathrine, in the family.

Luke and Hayden’s maternal grandparents are Clara Dena Clay of Wimberly, Texas, and Bill Smith of Houston. DeAnna Morgan Tatrow of Garden and Larry and Linda Stelmach of Henderson, Texas, are the paternal grandparents.

Great-grandparents are Leona Stelmach of Clarkston, Mich., and Clara and Odin Clay of Houston.

NORKOLI – A baby boy is the second child for Derek and Amanda (Kivioja) Norkoli of Escanaba. The infant, named Andon Lee, was delivered at OSF St. Francis Hospital on Oct. 7 at 4:10 p.m. He weighed in at 9 pounds, 4.5 ounces, and was 20 inches long.

Andon joins a sister, Aline, at home.

The baby’s grandparents are Gary and Patricia Kivioja and Ray and Evelyn Norkoli, all residents of Rock.
