Virgil James Bottrell
CARNEY – Virgil James Bottrell, 89, Carney, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013 at his home.
He was born on April 21, 1924, in Powers, son of John and Pearl (Arnold) Bottrell.
Virgil graduated from Powers High School in 1941.
On Sept. 29, 1945, Virgil married Flossie Motto at St. Bruno’s Church in Nadeau. Following his marriage, he and Flossie made their home in Carney.
He was self employed as a woods worker and farmer.
Virgil enjoyed riding his John Deere Gator, reading, being with his family and friends, and making steel decorations for his yard.
Virgil is survived by his wife, Flossie; daughter, Joan Kirby, both of Carney; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter, Tina Kirby.
Visitation will be on Thursday, Oct. 24, from 9 to 11 a.m. (CDT) at St. Bruno’s Church in Nadeau. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. (Central Time) with Rev. Michael Vichich officiating. A luncheon will follow in the church hall.
Burial will be in Bark River Cemetery.
The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the family.
