Volleyball: Gladstone’s Callie Jensen named Player of the Year
GLADSTONE – Callie Jensen has been an instrumental part of the Gladstone Braves’ success on the volleyball court this season. On Friday, she was rewarded for her efforts by being named Co-Player of the Year in the Great Northern Conference along with Tayler Smith of Marquette.
Jensen was the Braves’ team captain and excelled in dealing out assists for hitters’ Jess Beaudry and Lexi Hongisto, both of which were named to the All-GNC First Team with Jensen.
Escanaba libero Ashley Cook was the lone Eskymo on the First Team. Gladstone libero Summer Demuese and Escanaba’s Kami Fritz were each named to the Second Team.
Stephenson’s Sara Johnson was named Coach of the Year after the Eagles finished the regular season as GNC champions.
