Mildred L. Anderson
CORNELL – Mildred L. Anderson, 92, of Cornell, passed away Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, at Christian Park Health Care Center in Escanaba. She was born March 13, 1921, in Escanaba, Mich., and was the daughter of David and Edna (Peterson) Oslund. Millie attended school in Northland.
The former Mildred L. Oslund married Walter A. Anderson on March 8, 1941, in Escanaba and he preceded her in death on May 10, 2001. Millie worked at the Cornell school as a teacher’s aide for 15 years. She was an extremely kind person and was known by the family as “Auntie Mimmie.” Millie was a member of the Watson Bible Chapel, the DAV Auxiliary and she enjoyed bowling, knitting, crocheting and attending her husband’s baseball games.
Mildred L. Anderson is survived by: several nieces and nephews, including Lori Lynch of Arnold who was “Auntie Mimmie’s” caregiver.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by sister, Ann Benson, and brothers, Joe and Carl Oslund.
Visitation will beheld from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 8, at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Mildred L. Anderson will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dale Eklund officiating. A luncheon will be served following the funeral services in the Anderson Funeral Home fellowship area.
