Jon Paul ‘Moe’ Moberg
GLADSTONE – Jon Paul “Moe” Moberg, 57, of 1604 Montana Ave., Gladstone, passed away with dignity and humor on Monday, Nov. 4, 2013, at his home in Gladstone. He was born Dec. 6, 1955, in Escanaba and was the son of Richard and Patricia (Lavelle) Moberg. Moe graduated from Gladstone High School in 1974. He was employed at NewPage Paper Company in Escanaba until his retirement on Nov. 1, 2013. He enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing, golfing, playing foos ball, but his greatest love was spending time at camp. Moe was also an avid University of Michigan fan.
Jon Paul “Moe” Moberg is survived by: daughter, Tricia Moberg (John Blomberg) of Escanaba; granddaughter, Elsee Mae; father, Richard (Dorothy) Moberg of Oaklawn, Ill.; brothers, David (Karen) Moberg of Rapid River, Dennis Moberg (Cheryl Miller) of Flat Rock, Michael (Mandy) Moberg of Rock and Joseph (Janet) Moberg of Masonville; several nieces and nephews including a special nephew and friend Richard Moberg.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia, and sister, Ann Marie.
Visitation will be held from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, at the Anderson Funeral Home in Gladstone. Funeral services celebrating the life of Jon Paul “Moe” Moberg will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Mike LeBeau from St. Anne Catholic Church officiating. Pallbearers will be Richard (Buddha) Moberg, Hunter (Trigger) Moberg, Pat Mark (Doc) Bricco, Scotty (Stench) Bergeron, Larry Trudell, Richard (Pep) Pepin and Pete (Otis Little Bear Lopez) Leonardi.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be directed to the Delta County Cancer Alliance. Envelopes will be available at the Anderson Funeral Home. The Anderson Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements and online condolences can be sent to the family at www.andersonfuneralhomes.net.
