Voter decision will make school improvements possible

On behalf of the entire North Central Area School family, I would like to personally thank the voters of the district for supporting progress in approving both the non-homestead property tax and the bond proposal Nov. 5. With this support, North Central will continue to provide updated bus transportation, a message board that can be read 24 hours a day, classroom upgrades, updated heating system in the MS/HS, security upgrades in both buildings, technology improvements and a drive to future athletic and school events onto a fully paved parking area.

A core committee of community residents, school board members, colleagues on staff and administration worked tirelessly meeting 18 times, contacting voters, getting the message out and organizing four open houses to give our communities the opportunity to see for themselves the needs of the district. To this committee, our school board, the many volunteers and colleagues who donated their time providing refreshments and participating in these events, a big thank you.

Finally, to our friends at Lufts Advertiser – thank you so much for your help in getting the message out there.

We are humbled and most appreciative of your support. We all know to have good, quality schools that will sustain themselves in our communities, sacrifices in the form of taxes are a necessity. We will continue to provide the open and honest dialogue that each of you have grown accustomed, monitor progress on the district’s needs and, most important, maintain and advance the award-winning education you have supported. We have had, still do and will continue to have outstanding teachers and support staff maintain education their top priority. With the approval of these measures, our colleagues will soon have better facilities and tools to make educating our youth even better.

Again, thank you for your support.
