John A. ‘Jack’ Beauchamp
PEKIN, Ill. – John A. “Jack” Beauchamp, 84, of Pekin, passed away at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013, at Hallmark House in Pekin.
Born Jan. 8, 1929, in Marquette, to Louis and Mabel (Beauchamp) Beauchamp, he married Margaret J. Hillier on Aug. 26, 1950, in Marquette. She preceded him in death on March 21, 2006, in East Peoria. He was also preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Brian Herlich; and five brothers and one sister.
Surviving are two daughters, Terri (Harold) Herlich of Manito, Ill., Tina (Mitch) Brown of Fennville, Mich.; one son, Timothy (Patricia) Beauchamp of Sedalia, Colo.; five granddaughters, Jessica (Paul) Zarling, Carrie (Ben) Blumer, Elizabeth (John) Enter, Katie Beauchamp, Hannah Canfield; four grandsons, T.J. (Lisa) Herlich, Seth Herlich, Burton Canfield, Luke Canfield; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Jack had served in the Army National Guard in Marquette.
He was the owner of Jack’s Camera Shop in Escanaba for 15 years, retiring in 1997. Prior to that, he was in business with his brother at Beauchamp’s Camera in Marquette for 34 years.
Jack enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers and Michigan State basketball games. He also enjoyed photography, bowling, golfing and playing Pinochle at the Miller Center in Pekin.
His graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, at Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin, Ill., Pastor Paul Schulz will officiate. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
