Support of wine tasting event helps community
This week’s bouquets go to:
From Roger Charbonneau and Cheryl Ohman, co-chairs of the 11th annual Escanaba Rotary Wine Tasting at the Island Resort and Convention Center:
“By all accounts our wine tasting event was once again a huge success. We’d like to thank all who attended and had a wonderful time, and all the community-minded residents and businesses throughout Delta County that came together to pull off one of the best and most highly anticipated events of the year.
“Our major sponsors, the Island Resort and Bink’s Wines and Beverages, helped make this a perfect night. Thanks to members of the media, including the Daily Press, for helping publicize our event. Also, please remember all the local businesses that donated fun and valuable prizes for our various raffles and door prizes.
“Our club members work hard to make this a wonderful and fun event. It’s our only major fund-raising event of the year, and proceeds help us continue to be an active and supportive community leader.
“Proceeds from the benefit help a variety of Escanaba Rotary services, including our annual Christmas party for students at the ISD Learning Center in Escanaba, scholarships for Bay College students with special challenges, the Rotary Youth Exchange Program and various community projects.
“Here’s a quick invite to join our club as we meet weekly, networking with various community and business leaders with one bottom line: helping our community!
“Our group considers itself fortunate to have developed this positive, extremely social and low-pressure event. Once again, our entire community has come out the winner.”
“Thanks to everyone who helped and everyone who attended. We’re already looking forward to next year’s event, which is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 7. We hope you are, too.”
From William and Janet LaMarch of Escanaba:
“We’d like to take the time to thank everyone for the wonderful party (sponsored by the Delta County Jaycees to honor veterans on Veterans Day). Everything was just perfect. Anyone who didn’t go missed a perfect evening.
The people and businesses in our community are so generous. We can be proud to live in such a wonderful community. At this time when you’re seeing other areas letting their patriotism weaken, we stand firm and we hope we always will. God bless America. Thank you again everyone.”
From the William Bonifas Fine Arts Center:
“On behalf of the William Bonifas Fine Arts Center I would like to thank everyone who helped to make our annual Holiday Arts Fair on Saturday, Nov. 2, a fun and exciting success. Your efforts contributed greatly to keeping the Arts alive in Delta County. Thank you.”
Each Saturday the Daily Press salutes individuals and groups from our area who have had a very positive impact on the way we live.
