Craig Ray Lanaville Sr.
WILSON – Craig Ray Lanaville Sr., 57, N13770 County Rd 551, Wilson, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes at his home on Friday, Nov. 15, 2013.
He was born on Jan. 12, 1956, in San Antonio, Texas, son of Ray and Patricia (Allen) Lanaville.
Craig attended Wilson Jr. Academy and Carney Nadeau High School.
On April 18, 1973, Craig married Janean Kitson at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Munising.
Craig had worked for Robinson Furniture, Snowden Inc., Smeester Brothers and also was self-employed with Lanaville Trucking. He became employed with Marinette Marine in 2003 and was a leadman and was the welding instructor where he enjoyed his job and co-workers very much.
Craig was a volunteer for the Gourley Township Fire Department since 1992.
He loved to spend time with his loving family and also enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his four-wheeler and playing with his grandchildren.
He was a member of the NRA and Seventh Day Adventist Church in Wilson.
Craig was an amazing, loving, and caring husband, father, and grandfather. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Among survivors include his wife, Janean of Wilson; his father, Ray (Vernetta) Lanaville of Silverwood, Mich.; three children, Craig Ray “Chip” (Wendy) Lanaville Jr. of Wilson, Jaime Lynn (Jeremey) Gagnon of Wilson, and Angel (Cory) Lanaville of North Carolina; five grandchildren, Ashley, Mya, Trevor, Trenton, and Jayden; siblings, Daryl (Suzette) Lanaville of Texas, Mark (Nikki) Lanaville of Wilson and Leesa Lanaville of Silverwood, Mich.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia, and brother, Lane.
Visitation will be on Thursday, Nov. 21, from 11 a.m. to noon (Eastern Time) at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Wilson with the funeral service to follow at noon.
Burial will be in the Seventh Day Adventist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial in Craig’s name may be made to the Gourley Township Fire Association which will be used to benefit the fire department. The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the Lanaville family.
