Man charged in foster home knife assault
GLADSTONE – Police have released the name of a Gladstone man accused of assaulting a fellow resident at an adult foster care home in Gladstone on Monday.
Theodore L. Frederick II, 40, was arraigned Monday in Delta County District Court and officially charged with one count of assault with a dangerous weapon, also known as felonious assault. The felony carries a maximum punishment of four years in prison.
Frederick allegedly assaulted an 18-year-old male at around 1:22 a.m. Monday at Country Acres Adult Foster Care, 9284 Hwy. M-35 in Brampton, where they are both residents, according to Gladstone Public Safety.
The two men were having a verbal confrontation when Frederick allegedly went after the victim with a kitchen knife, similar to a steak knife. The victim received minor superficial wounds which did not require medical treatment, said police.
Frederick remains lodged in the county jail in lieu of a $5,000 bond.
