SCANABA – Ivy Desotelle, 89, of 917 Sheridan Road, Escanaba, passed away Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013, at her home in Escanaba. She was born Feb. 15, 1924, in Rochdale, England, and was the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Tweedale) Pemberton.
Ivy attended school in England and then worked in various factories in England. It was during World War II that she met her future husband, an American soldier. On Dec. 7, 1946 she left England for America.
On Dec. 21, 1946, the former Ivy Pemberton married John Jensen in Escanaba and he preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 1961. On Sept. 3, 1973, she married Julius Desotelle while they were visiting her family in England and he preceded her in death on June 24, 2003.
Ivy was employed at numerous jobs during her working years and retired in 1989.
Ivy Desotelle is survived by daughter, Karen (John) Kobasic of Escanaba; grandchildren, Pamela Kobasic of Austin, Texas, Cheryl (Max) Clise of Austin, Texas, Mark Kobasic of Gladstone; great-grandchildren, Logan, Connor and Sophie Ivy Clise of Austin, Texas; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by sister, Hilda Thompson, and brothers Harry and Charles Pemberton.
