Jeanette ‘Janie‘ Francis Moreno
ESCANABA – Jeanette “Janie” Francis Moreno, 87, formerly of Cornell and Harbor Tower in Escanaba, passed away Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, at Christian Park Health Care Center in Escanaba. She was born Oct. 20, 1926, in Escanaba, Mich., and was the daughter of Oliver and Frances King. The former Jeanette King married Manuel Moreno on May 11, 1946, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 12, 2002. Jeanette was a member of the St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church and enjoyed playing bingo. She was an extremely feisty woman who was always sincere and loving to those she loved.
Jeanette “Janie” Moreno is survived by: grandchildren, Julie (Frank) Paolucci, Karen (Patrick) Campbell, Charles (Marci) Resch, James Moreno, Katie Moreno, Christopher Moreno; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Amanda, Patrick, Abigail, Frankie, Lindsay, Luca, Daniel, Olivia and Gavin; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her three children, Irene Moreno-Resch, Flora Moreno-Hanna and Harry Moreno; and brothers, Harry Rausseau and Leslie King.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 4, at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Jeanette Janie Moreno will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Anderson Funeral Home with Rev. David Simmons officiating. Burial will take place in the Lakeview Cemetery.
