Victim of fatal hit and run identified
POWELL TOWNSHIP – The victim of a fatal hit and run in Powell Township on Tuesday has been identified as 54-year-old Robin Rahoi of Big Bay, according to Michigan State Police from the Negaunee Post. Investigators also report they have located a suspect vehicle.
Troopers continue to investigate the fatality which occurred Tuesday morning on County Road KCB in Powell Township, approximately two miles east of Big Bay Village in Marquette County.
Marquette County Central Dispatch received a 911 call at approximately 5:20 a.m. Tuesday from a passing motorist who reported a body on the roadway.
Troopers responded and identified the woman as Rahoi. She appeared to have been walking on County Road KCB (also known as Lighthouse Road) when she was struck by an unknown vehicle, stated police in a news release.
Troopers and an accident reconstructionist from the Michigan State Police 8th District Headquarters have been investigating the fatality and have located a suspect hit and run vehicle. More information will be released as it becomes available, said police.
Powell Township EMS, Powell Township Fire Department, and Marquette County Sheriff Department assisted troopers at the scene Tuesday.
