Richard ‘Dick’ J. Ducheny
FORD RIVER – Richard “Dick” J. Ducheny, 77, Ford River, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013, at his home.
He was born on Dec. 20, 1935, in Gladstone, the son of the late Armand and Margaret (Mastaghe) Ducheny. On Aug. 6, 1955, he married the former Gale Arvey in Gladstone, who passed away in 1999.
Dick graduated from Gladstone High School in 1953. After high school, he attended Davenport School of Business in Grand Rapids. He worked most of his life with Schneider, Larche & Haapala as a CPA in Escanaba. After he retired as a CPA, Dick bought, owned and operated “Dick’s Family Store” in Ford River.
He is survived by three children, Debbie (Chris) Chappelle, Mike (Jean) Ducheny and Greg (Jodi) Ducheny; two sisters, Marlene (Sonny) Sinnaeve and Diane Zeintek; one brother, James (Gloria) Brassick; nine grandchildren; as well as nieces and nephews.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a son, John Ducheny.
Friends may call from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, at the Allo Coolman Funeral Home in Escanaba to join with his family in visiting and remembering Richard “Dick” Ducheny.
Burial will take place in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery in the spring.
